On December 10, 2020, Satyavrat Shukla notified the Company of his decision to resign from the position of Chief Financial Officer of the Company, effective December 31, 2020, in order to pursue another opportunity. Mr. Shukla’s resignation is not a result of any disagreement with the Company’s independent auditors or any member of management on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure or internal controls.
The Company has initiated a search for a new Chief Financial Officer.

Ziopharm Oncology Announces Chief Financial Officer to Step Down
BOSTON, December 14, 2020 Ziopharm Oncology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZIOP) (Ziopharm or the Company), today announced that Satyavrat Sath Shukla, CFA, Chief Financial Officer, has informed the Company of his intention to step down from the role effective December 31, 2020 to pursue another opportunity. The Company has initiated a search for a new Chief Financial Officer.
Laurence Cooper, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Ziopharm, said, On behalf of everyone at Ziopharm, I would like to thank Sath for his strong commitment and valuable contributions towards helping the Company advance its therapies through development and closer to patients in need.
